The Fleet Military Museum

One of the largest museums in Vladivostok and the oldest in the whole region, is the Arseniev Regional History Museum. You will find it on the Svetlanskaya street, at number 20, in the center of the town. The Fleet Military Museum in Vladivostok is located on the Korabelnaya Naberegnaya Street and the entry is done through a several meters long submarine at the end of which you will discover many warships and recreational vessels.

The fortress dates back to the late nineteenth century and houses the Vladivostok Fortress Museum. In the historic center you will discover the Primorsky Art Gallery. Locals known it as the Art Museum of Vladivostok.

The Fleet Military Museum

The Fleet Military Museum in Vladivostok was founded in 1987. Here can be seen the small patrol vessel of the Russian Navy Pacific Fleet, called Krasniy Vimpel. Its history begins in 1911, the first ship to resemble a yacht of our days, being tested in the Baltic Sea and the Atlantic Ocean before reaching the Pacific Ocean. Inside the museum, visitors can view an exhibition entitled “Development of Russian submarines.”

The Vladivostok Fortress Museum

The Vladivostok Fortress was one of the strongest fortifications in the world. In the fortress were situated sixteen forts and a castle. The fortress was a huge tunnel and several underground galleries as well. Nowadays it hosts the Vladivostok Fortress Museum. Visitors can admire the institution and some guns used in war, old weapons and military clothing. The museum is opened  from 10.00-18.00.

The Primorsky Art Gallery of Vladivostok

This Primorsky Art Gallery of Vladivostok was founded in the late nineteenth century and was built with money donated by the Municipality. Visitors can admire numerous art collections of famous Russian artists, oil paintings, portraits of personalities from the Renaissance periods, some graphs and drawings of some amateur artists, maps painted in oil and many old photos. All of the works exhibited in the two exhibition halls are very valuable, but most ithe mportant of all is the oil painting of Sassy Feshin, which dates from 1914. In the second room you can admire some works of international artists such as Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh and Rembrandt.

The museum is opened from Tuesday to Sunday between 09:00-18:00. The price of the entry is the west wing is 50 rubles, and in the east wing is 40 rubles.

The Arseniev Regional History Museum

The building of the Arseniev Regional History Museum in Vladivostok has two floors and the museum was founded in the early nineteenth century. There you can admire many historic and archaeological ceramic vessels dating back hundreds of years, jewelry discovered in archaeological sites, an impressive numismatic collection, a few old things that define the lifestyle of the period, old furniture, documents certifying the authenticity of the city ​​and some pictures with its panorama.
