We present you 3 important buildings in the city of Kazan. The Syuyumbike Tower is the symbol of the city. It is known by tourists from all over the world because it resembles the Tower of Pisa, due to its significant slope in the north-east, a slope of about 2 meters.

The Lenin State Universitywas founded in 2010, replacing the former Imperial University of Kazan, which was opened in 1804. The National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan is the largest institution of its kind in the region and is a museum of great importance for the country, many researches being done there.

 

The Syuyumbike Tower of Kazan

The foundation of this historical and architectural monument has a depth of 2 meters, the tower has a height of about 52 meters and the building has three levels.

The red brick tower is an important building in Kazan and dates back to the sixteenth century, but it is not known exactly by whom it was built. At the top of the monument you can see a tower with tow eagles hanging, that were added in the 18th century. In the next century they added a gold crescent. In the past, the tower was watching over the Volga river, the city of Kazan and the surrounding landscape. Nowadays, tourist climb here to see the city panorama.

The Syuyumbike Tower is located in the center of the town and near this historical and architectural monument we find other sites of interest in Kazan, such as the Annunciation Cathedral, the Virgin Mary Monastery, The Kachalov Theatre and the Rock Bell Tower.

The Lenin State University in Kazan

The institution is the second oldest university in the country and has recently taken the name of its most famous graduate, Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, known worldwide as Lenin. This place is also famous because it is the birthplace of organic chemistry, thanks to the work of Bulterov, Markovnikov and Arbuzov.

The Lenin State University is an important building in the city of Kazan and was built according to the plans of the famous Russian architect Korinfsky, it has three floors and many rooms. Among others these include the library, the laboratories of physics and chemistry, the theater and the observatory. The Chemistry Department was built with the money of the students. Over the time there have learned many personalities of Russia as Michael Minsky, Lev Tolstoy, Vladimir Lenin, Bush and Aksakov.

The library contains full collections of old and new books, school textbooks, over 20,000 biographies and more than 4,500 rare books in the world. Within the University there are also many museums. The entrance to all of the museums has to be paid separately.

The National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan in Kazan

The institution is an important building in Kazan being and was founded in the 18th century and since then have continuously increased the number of exhibits found here. The Russian history enthusiasts can admire numerous historical, cultural and archaeological collections. Some of the most important works here include the portrait of AF Lihaciov, one of the greatest historians of the country, the portrait is made of stone and painted with oils. You can also see here important collections of vases, jewelry and clothing from the past centuries, the most important Egyptian collection in the country, ancient weapons, the largest numismatic collection in the country, the Bulgarian gold jewelries, books and manuscripts and many others.
